I used JE Engineering (now called JE Motor Works), just outside Coventry.
Did an upgrade on my 2.4, not cheap but excellent results

Take a look at Devon 4x4, part number D44DNOWS
5mm steel incl double reinforced recovery eyes, very good quality, much better than original Land Rover part.

Go with Munch90's suggestion, replace the injector seals.
I had exactly the same, including "your engine is shot mate".
Change the washers and problems sorted. Worth having them re-check ...
