I used JE Engineering (now called JE Motor Works), just outside Coventry.
Did an upgrade on my 2.4, not cheap but excellent results

Take a look at Devon 4x4, part number D44DNOWS
5mm steel incl double reinforced recovery eyes, very good quality, much better than original Land Rover part. |

Go with Munch90's suggestion, replace the injector seals.
I had exactly the same, including "your engine is shot mate".
Change the washers and problems sorted. Worth having them re-check ... |
