Thanks for the comments and help. Finally looking like a defender again.
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge It's not until i get to this stage a realise all the effort to get everything aligned just didnt work. The air intake tube does not clear the wing... was hoping to avoid gutting the wing... And radiator mounting brakets need some more work Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Fitting the screen frame was a real fight, I used the YRM lower window strip, is there a particular technique as compressing the seal enough to line the holes up, was almost impossible, I've still got one bolt not aligned.... |

Thanks for the kind comments on the colour, I love it but I do find not many of my friends like it it's not for everyone but I really love it.
Well some sad news, it didn't take me long to damage one of the wings which has had to go back to the body shop for some reworking fair to say they were not impressed by my handy work, out of embarrassment I'm not posting a picture for your amusement Any way some progress as I've got around to fitting up the doors. Click image to enlarge always nice to add some billet to the project Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Some more dynamat Click image to enlarge looks almost invisible on the door Click image to enlarge got some finished photos of the center console, apart from the switches being turned the right way and the cup holders anodized it's finished, fingers crossed it fits. ?? Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge also added some additional air holes in the OS wing Click image to enlarge |

I thought you said somewhere the interior was going to be "wild"? That centre console is a thing of beauty! Love the orange swish, understated but ties everything together very nicely. Pleased you didn't go with orange stitching. James

Who supplies this twin fan setup / air con condenser / radiator (if that's what it is?) |

I just bought another fan and added it, it's a little bit of a faf and I had to slightly raise the Condenser in the frame (as I have a trans cooler below, so should be OK with standard fitment). I also did some load testing to make sure the wiring and fuse were not going to be overloaded as they are run off the existing LR circuit.
I'm not sure what effect it will have but I got the inspiration off some defenders being sent out to Saudi and this modification was being done to them. The AC on my other 90 is very poor and I'm hoping this is going to be better as I've got fixed glass in the sides, sunroof and a full panoramic roof so it's going to be a cracking little green house, on the positive side if I don’t get it finished I can use it to grow tomatoes. |
