Last year I was working on the farm one Saturday, Big Black was covered in mud in the middle of a field and it looked right at home. That evening I spent five minutes with the pressure washer and went into Manchester. Parked it up behind an S Class just off Deansgate, it looked right at home. I can't see the DC100 being the same... I must admit, it is growing on me, but not as a Defender. |

Rumor: Revised DC100 to be shown at LA motoshow mid Nov. Looks like DC100 will be targeting US customers.
Time to speculate on changes. Big fat juicy petrol V8 anyone? Paul Pondering a New 90 Commercial 2020 Evoque * 2014 110 SW JE Stage 2. *2010 110 Utility. JE Stage 2. *2007 110 SW *2003 90 JE Stage 2. *2000 90 SW If its not leaking it ain't full. |

Maybe... but it might be diesel - the septics are warming to oil-burners a little more now their fuel isn't quite as cheap as it was... No bad thing though, as they are unlikely to sell it there with a small diesel, so we may have either an option between two, or at least a medium sized lump that would satisfy both markets? |

It's an odd market for sure. Don't know about LRs but with BMWs, they have the 335d (no other diesel) but with a bit less power and...this is amusing... it needs UREA added to the fuel to keep it running properly!! ![]() Many are crying out for smaller, more efficient engines but they just won't send them over! Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

Would the UREA have something to do with the DPF and keeping it clean? 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

"Overall, the reaction to DC100 reinforced what we wanted to do and told us that we're pretty much on the right track." ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Joao '10 Land Rover Defender 110 CC '08 BMW F800GS '64 SIIA Forward Control '69 SIIA 109 ZA CKD _____________________________________________ You have the right to remain silent. Are they for real? The reaction in most places I looked (Facebook, article comments, forums) was really negative. But I guess that could also be a nice way of saying "We'll have to change most of the concept, but a new Defender will come!". I mean, I guess the 'right track' could be considered the need to update the Defender ![]() Still, so as not to be overly negative, I think LR can fix it if they want to. A reinterpretation of the Defender is pretty much what we want. But the first version of the concept was lacking a lot of that Landy feel. |

DC100 Concept Makes Middle Eastern Debut In Dubai
"Today (November 10, 2011) Land Rover's DC100 concept makes its Middle Eastern Debut at the 2011 Dubai International Motor Show. The DC100 concept explores the possible design and technological direction of the new Defender. Evolved since its unveiling at Frankfurt Motor Show in September, the DC100 concept now features off-road optimised 20-inch alloy wheels with Cooper all-terrain tyres. It is finished in a distinctive colour combination of Fuji White paint with a Santorini Black roof." http://newsroom.jaguarlandrover.com/en-in/...ow_101111/ Hardly evolved that much, they just stuck nearly normal sized off road alloys on it. However, I'm starting to like the looks of it, seems to be growing on me....this version reminds me a bit of the NAS Defender in this colour scheme ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge |

I can't say the revised styling does much for me to be honest.

Like the color scheme ... the wheels are ok ... better than the early concept ones
The rest is the same ... crap ... Still don't like it ... Hate those rear lights, the whole front, the doors ... ![]() It still looks like a regular, characterless japanese (or other) SUV ... It still doesn's look like a capable 4x4 ... ![]() Joao '10 Land Rover Defender 110 CC '08 BMW F800GS '64 SIIA Forward Control '69 SIIA 109 ZA CKD _____________________________________________ You have the right to remain silent.
