I had to replace my gearbox switch and got at it via the access panel under the cubby box - a bit tight but doable. This is what the switch looks like when you get there...

I know that I really couldn't get at mine at all from underneath, certainly not enough to get a spanner on it.

+1 In the end I never did touch it or need to and found it was earthing at fault instead.

Did mine tonight ready for its MOT, as reversing lights are now part of the test.

Took out the cubby box and blanking plate, but to tight for me to swing the spanner in there.

Took out the plastic transmission tunnel and Bob's your uncle - there it is looking at you.

Thanks for all the advice from here.

Does anyone know where I could get a female plug to connect to the mt82 gearbox reverse light selector switch please? Ideally with flying leads.

Had to replace my defective switch, it's quite easy, I did it from inside by slackening all the bolts holding the transmission tunnel, this gives you enough movement to remove what's necessary, but you require a very short spanner to do the job Retired from the day job and now self employed - what a life!!
