Stressedcoma - That’s the direction I’m going in later this year on mine, pin to pin rear damper.
Only I have D44 top mounts to put on which matches the front on mine. Will be using the GW fuel filter relocation though. What’s the standard procedure for unbolting the pin to pin dampers I.e gripping it? Lower mounts aren’t hard at all, I use one of those “boa” rubber band wrench things to avoid damage when tightening, but there is a decent surface area at the rear lower mount but not at the top. Guessing it’s mole grips and a touch of paint after / rustproofing spray. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

The top of the pin has two flats for a 8mm spanner to hold the shaft. No mole IPs. It should not be done up tight anyway.

Hi, Mine didn’t have any flats that were useable, I have a thin rubber strap wrench I was able to get between the washer and the plastic cover. I then pulled it as tight as I could and was able to get them nipped up. I would say it’s 8-10mm wide and goes in just nicely onto the tapered bit at the top. Bottom was easy, I just held it by hand. Hardest bit I found was finding the spot welds to drill them out to get the bush cups off the axle. Last edited by StressedComa on 22nd Feb 2023 10:27pm. Edited 1 time in total |

I took mine to Alive Tuning for a VNT Turbo, road suspension setup and new brakes.
I have to say the demonstrator they have is brilliant and I have yet to have a go in the bonkers one I’m still smiling from the test drive and cant wait to have mine back How exciting T |

Check if this link works, as the link to my order does not work. When I was searching I found 2 types. Silicone ones, just like what I got, and there are 'foam' types, similar to old mouse mats. I preferred the silicone ones, they look good too. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004811...YkSNyqNrB1 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

A few pages back I posted about my troubles with undoing the big bolts securing the tow ball plate to the crossmember. Well the bad metal has been cut out, new metal welded in and my 2” receiver is firmly secured. It’s been a long-time want of mine. I’ve only towed once in the three years I’ve had the 90 and that was to help out a friend (their towing vehicle broke down on the way back from a caravanning holiday).
The Safari Equip 2” receiver from 4xOverlander (it’s far too clean ): Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 2003 90 TD5 Hardtop |

Lovely bit of kit that hitch. Miffy has had one on for many years. Needs a repaint this year.
Unfortunately, the oils I ordered did not turn up in time for this weekend, so no Defender jobs done. But, the Freelander has had a few new parts put on her (Phoebe) instead. Great to be able to open the boot again.... |
