Yes, I have ...

I use my iPad for navigation, I have the Ram mount fixed to the dash of my 300 Tdi.
Sits very secure, i am very happy with it.

We use a Ram iPad mount on a flex arm fitted to the passenger seat rail. This puts it at the perfect angle for me when I am navigating but it is also in a decent position to be seen from the driver's seat if you are travelling solo. It is easy to change the position from landscape to portrait and vice versa but it holds it steady for navigating. I was very impressed with how steady it holds the iPad off road.I will shoo Brendan out to take a photo of it in situ tomorrow.

We stock the standard iPad mount and also the lockable version complete with a range of arms.
In the red 110 we had a toughbook mount fitted on a double arm from the bulkhead.
Regards
Barbara

OK meant to post some photos but other things got in the way

iPad mount in landscape orientation. The flex arm is fixed under the seat rail bolt.

I really like the look of the ram mount kit but I can't find anyone local who stocks it. The head office is about 10 mins from the office but they don't have visitors so its a "no sale"

What I need is the ability to hold a tablet in 2 defenders, a 300tdi and a Puma.

It's dimensions 275 x 170 x 14mm

BP, what is the weight of your tablet?

That defines what size ball system is required. There are three ball sizes, 1", 1.5" and 2.25". Dependent on weight you would need one of the two larger ball systems.

Assuming you have a heavy tablet it might be a case of fixing a ball on a base plate either to the bulkhead or front of seat box, side of transmission tunnel. Then the tablet holder is fixed to an arm and can be readily transferred between both vehicles.

Let me know via pm the actual tablet make and I will try to work out appropriate holder.

Simon, have not got a picture at the moment. Will take one later today.

You just undo the front seat rail bolt and slide the RAM foot in.

IIRC the two lengths are 6" and 18". You could decrease length of arm with use of hacksaw, however my first choice would be to try and bend surplus arm length out of the way. This all depends on your requirements.

Remember RAM is American, hence imperial size Allen key/sockets will be required

I have a set up exactly the same as Ray in my D3. I use a TB so don't use it like Ray. In the fact that I don't use the TB in a traditional laptop style. It's always folded over as a tablet. Works perfectly. Did a 2 week trip to Morocco last year and performed exactly as I wanted it to.

In the 90 I have bolted the ball to the side of the centre console rather than a frame like Ray has. Usinig a short arm it positions it perfectly for me to see the screen when in the driving position 110 D250 SE HT

Simon, photo of how the flexi arm foot attaches underneath the seat base rail

This particular iPad holder will not hold an iPad in a case. Note the photo shows the back of the holder and the two positions of the mounting plate.

The next photo shows the components of the flexi arm

Any questions please ask away
