Not bad... So if your swivels are in good nick you just need to check and adjust the bearings preload with those shims. And the other two items are pretty straight forward...

I imagine so, but it isn't very helpful when the tester invents his/her own bizarre terminology! What's wrong with "swivel housing"?

It did make me think of the "new" VW Beetle when it first came out which, as I recall, came complete with a flower vase on the dash!

The 110 has been promoted to daily driver this week, wife's using my RRS as her car away. i took to using the D2 daily whilst she uses mine only for the air compressor to give up so its now sat on its arse. Defender to the rescue, found in the corner of my parents barn with a flat battery. Was soon resurrected and is now now on daily duties

Went to wd40 the plugs for gearbox and transfer box, ready for an oil change and found my front prop like this:

Couldn’t get it just to push back together (not enough to form a seal anyway).

Was planning to grease everything after the oil change next week - does anyone have any advice on what to do with this? Thank you.

Obligatory didn't-happen-today-but post.

Last weekend I took an hours or so pootle to Pompey & Southsea. Before setting off, I checked my fluids. Glad I did as the coolant level was well below the min mark. "Interesting...", I thought to myself.

Anyway, topped that up and kept coolant in the back - just in case. As I was closing the bonnet, it s almost immediately slipped out of my fingers and slammed shut. "Oh, well that'll do it!".

When I got to Southsea, I noticed a fair bit of drippage coming from just under the A pillar. Well I'd just driven a long-ish way down and didn't fancy heading straight back home, so left it as it was.

Came back later with a view of checking where the leak is coming from on a desolate country lane on the way home. Pulled over, pulled the release lever and it was light as anything. "Strange... ". Went round to open the bonnet and nothing. Bloody thing won't open.

The release has been a bit of a Censored since I got it and normally a bumpy drive helps release it.

Got home and the git still won't open.

That was a week ago. I've done a bunch of research and I'm wondering if the cable has snapped somewhere, or has come out of its fixings at the bonnet end. I dunno; can't see Censored all, even with the grill off. I can't tell where the release mechanism is.

I'll have to book it into Keith Gotts - they must be able to get it open.

Found my water pump has a small leak developed on it many years after I replaced it last.
So will nip it in the bud before it gets worse and replace it, and this time replace the entire coolant too.
I had wondered why my coolant level slowly dropped over a few months, at least the positive is that there there is no head gasket issue.

Tell tale orange coolant drip says it all from under the pump and manifold, the last freezing spell no doubt caused it.
I think I last replaced one about 5 years ago approx so can’t complain. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️
