Well I popped to my usual Landy specialist today to add the crossmember job to the list, and then on the way back my passenger wing mirror arm decides it doesn't want to hold tension anymore.

Not as bad as on a modern car to replace but still a pain in the arse. 2003 90 TD5 Hardtop

Crap photo waiting on the ferry to Mull on Christmas Eve, i had no internet for a week, it was bliss.

Sad fact, the large boat in the background belongs to the lighthouse board and is used to help maintain all the lights on the west coast of Scotland

Brickbox - Great photo. Thumbs Up Thinking of heading over there this coming summer maybe. Very Happy

Yesterday, I wondered why my rear windscreen washer wasn’t working despite the fact I could hear it.
I used the front washer jet and that was okay, but thought damn that must the something up with that rear washer jet. Rolling Eyes
(Assuming the front washer jet was working > assumed fluid level was okay).

I was thinking maybe the nozzles were blocked at the back or the pipe may have popped off the washer jet nozzle.
Obviously, I checked the washer fluid level today and it was nearly empty. Embarassed Laughing

That was all it was, I was thrown by the fact the front washer jet was still working, presumably the front fluid pick up in the header tank is a little lower than the rear.

Either way, I’m glad that’s all it was I’m surprised I had managed to use so much washer fluid since I checked it not that long ago, but with mucky roads and dirty road water spray it’s not surprising.

Whilst I was there I did the usual checks, engine oil etc etc.

So maybe worth checking your washer fluid and other items if you read this, might be a bit lower than you realise. And with the rain spell we have had it’s been easier said than done with checking these things.
Thumbs Up ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Pulled it over the ramp with the intentions of giving it a service which i always do around Christmas/new year. Checked service book and i've only done 1100 mile in it this year so didn't bother. going to get some use out of it and service it in spring instead.

Clutch master cylinder is now kaputt! Why it didn't decide to die the same time as my transmission is anyone's guess. Upholding the old saying "Never over in a Rover" I reckon. In any case, new clutch master cylinder on order. Went with TRW as it was a "G" suffixed part and much cheaper than Girling! Shocked

I hope the parts arrive early next week so I can get on the road again. Luckily he decided to stop working in front of the house, but not in the garage so he's outside but at least not in the middle of the road.

*SIGH*

Yes, designed that way so that the rear squirter running out alerts you to the fact that the fluid is low but does so before the front squirters pack up. A piece of good design for once!

I have my headlamp washer pump mounted where those of you with rear windows have your rear squirter, so that my headlamp squirters stop before my windscreen squirters. (My headlamp squirters are actually so awesome that they will effectively squirt the windscreen as well as the headlamps)!

Took out the oven, fixed the diesel heater. Ordered lots of bolt on overlanding bits ready for our trip to Morocco in March.

Finally replaced the clutch master cylinder! A lot of removal of stuff before the cylinder itself then the fine tuning of the bite.

At least I'm back on the road again.

I hope I didn't just jinx myself Rolling with laughter
