Can l get the radio to stay on?

.....with the ignition off?
lt stays on for a few minutes and then demands l press the start/stop button but that fires up all the vehicles systems
Then if you press the button again it all goes off, including the radio!

Frustrating

Seems to be a very annoying "feature" of many (all?) modern cars... Radio is not just a radio anymore, but a power hungry big-screen infotainment system which sometimes also acts as communication gatway for other ECUs and performs all kind of other tasks. In a VW architecture there will be only three big ECUs left instead of many small ones. Wake them up and battery is discharged in no time... When my little Citroen gets on my nerves shutting off the radio while I wait in the car, they euphemistically call it "eco mode" - yeah, thanks...

okay l guessed it might be something like that!

Can l stop the headlights from staying on after l leave the vehicle, it's not necessary for me to have this feature.

I've never really understood feature given that it is against the law to have headlights on on a stationary vehicle other than a vehicle stationary in traffic, and for that matter illegal to have headlights on when reversing. The majority of modern cars appear to compel you to break the law.

It doesn't, but the HC is far from the definitive list of motoring laws.

It will be one of the following, but I cannot offhand remember which nor do I have the time nor immediate motivation to find it:

It is also possible that EC law has superseded the UK legislation.

I get that one. Was more the being illegal to reverse with headlights on, which, in the dark seems a bit ridiculous/unsafe.

The headlight delay is (I'm assuming) for people who have private driveways without lights on a PIR so you can see where you're going to get to your door. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

Similar thing from back in the late 90's.... I used to have a Peugeot 405 estate, had snazzy fog lights on the front that you could turn on with just the sidelights, to give that (in a 20-something year olds mind) cool look of bright fogs and dim headlights.

I got tugged by the police and told off for having front fogs on (when the viewing distance was clearly more than 100yds... anyone remember that? rears for 50yds and fronts for 100 or something similar).
Anyway, roll on a few years and every car has "driving lights" that are always on dazzling everyone.

Bah humbug moan whinge modern tech moan ad infinitum......

What's with the ridiculous "single fog light" illumination when you go round a corner? l can tell that my Defender does it, but it has no apparent use whatsoever
