Part numbers I noted for the NuggetStuff filter when I was looking for sensibly-priced alternatives:
Googling any of these numbers will find further alternatives, it is a widely used filter. |

Blackwolf “its a widely used filter” , your not kidding , these are the ones quoted by Parts in motion, a parts supplier I tend to use for true OEM EGRs etc.
Interesting to note is the height of the filter for different manufacturers ranges from 175-178mm and the hole in the bottom, that if I recall correctly, sits on the conical rubber mount in the airbox, ranges from circa 8-10mm, I expect both measurements combine to insure a tight fit 1A FIRST AUTOMOTIVE A60579 ALCO FILTER MD652 AMC Filter IA-385 ASHIKA 20-01-110 BOSCH 1 457 433 275 BREMSI FA2230 CHAMPION W708/606 CLEAN FILTERS MA620 Comline CNS12008, CNS12226 CONTINENTAL 28.0002-0278.2 Coopersfiaam FLI6819 DENCKERMANN A140202 DIAMAX DA2222 DJ PARTS FA1545 Dr!ve+ DP1110.10.0277 DYNAMATRIX DAF830 FIL FILTER HP 4554 A Filtron AM436/1 FLEETGUARD AF1822 Fram CA5369 GCG TURBOS AUSTRALIA RY-A1203 GOODWILL AG 477 HERTH+BUSS JAKOPARTS J1321017 HOFFER 16330, 16449 IAP QUALITY PARTS 121-13042 JAPANPARTS FA-110S JAPKO 20110 JC PREMIUM B21017PR JPN 20F1013-JPN JS ASAKASHI A226J KAGER 12-0220 KAISHIN A226 KAVO PARTS IA--385, IA-385 KLAXCAR FRANCE FA260z KNECHT LX 830 LUCAS FILTERS LFAF359 LYNXauto LA-269 MAGNETI MARELLI 152071758561, eBay Item No. 154084455530 MAHLE LX 830 MANDO MMF015095 MANN-FILTER C 13 103/1 MAPCO 60542 MASTER-SPORT GERMANY 13103/1-LF-PCS-MS MASUMA MFA-349 MAXGEAR 26-1591 Mchanix NSARF-004 MDR MAF-3110 MEAT & DORIA 16330, 16449 MECAFILTER EL3808 MFILTER A 143 MISFAT RM973 MOTAQUIP VFA669 MULLER FILTER PA579 NIPPARTS J1321017 NPS N132N10, N132N17 OPEN PARTS EAF3408.20 OSSCA 06085 PATRON PF1484 PEMEBLA JAPFA-110S PURFLUX A330 PZL Filters WA30300A QH Talbros WA6112 QUINTON HAZELL QFA0485 RED-LINE 36NI017 RIDEX 8A0378 RYCO A1203 SAKURA Automotive A-1882 Sakura Filters AU FA-1882 SCT - MANNOL SB014 SOFIMA S 7169 A Stark SKAF-0060384 STELLOX 71-02011-SX TECNECO FILTERS AR579-I UFI 27.169.00 UNIFLUX FILTERS XA1842 WE PARTS 16330 WILMINK GROUP WG1216839 Wix Filters WA6112 |

I can see now that I had hardly skimmed the surface! Thank you for a useful and possibly definitive list.

I was wondering what's the alternatives to a standard airbox for a puma ?nugget .diy bodge and what else ? Am i being a little simplistic? all you need is a as wide a bore tube from wing inlet preferably sealed ( air sensor)to some sort of air reservoir with a filter in it that fits in the space allocated by original airbox..then a pipe to the turbo/engine....I know its probably more complicated for a aftermarket company to introduce a product to the market but the landrover community is innovation and i think nugget needs a little competition.
I might have a we search for inspiration starting at... https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/search?q=air+duct |

I started at topic looking at the options I was aware of. In the end I went with a Nak wintop air intake and a nugget stuff Leo deluxe airbox https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82616.html |

That would have cost you around 700-800 notes? I personally think its overpriced for what you get ..but that's the joys of defender ownership what actually are the options?

Watching this with interest. I’ve also been on the lookout for a sensibly priced well made option to have a bigger bore hose into the side vent and keep the modified standard air box.
I know some clever people have made something that works but I’m not 100% sure I ever would. |

Success
It's a pain of a job to do and I don't have much skin left on my knuckles. Click image to enlarge I'm not convinced this little device does much for water separation. I was out in thick fog/drizzle yesterday and when I took the lid off the air box it was damp inside with some small puddles in the webs. Ultimately I think I'll fit the Nugget Stuff wing to air box kit, however, there's a few things on the list in front of it. I'll report back on any difference or not. |

Just bit the bullet and ordered the full Nugget Stuff Airbox kit from Wayne, which once installed I'll match to my Mantec RAI.

Just did this and took me less than 30 minutes. Helps a lot when you have a reciprocating saw. The little fan came out in pieces, but it came out. I can't tell a difference at this point but I'm trusting that it did make a difference since everyone else says it does

First long drive, to Norfolk and back, over the weekend since removing the little fan thingy. No scientific measurement but I think the pick up from low RPM is much better and overall the throttle response feels smoother.
Well worth the time and skinned knuckles. |
