Leak
I know an common question...In heavy rain, when i park in a certain place on the drive and only occasionally there is a very small amount of water on the matt - passenger side.

Now before i and the dealer have looked and couldnt find anything

Today i noticed a dop of water on the grille of the air box at the top of the passenger footwell

Is this a known location, is it a problem or is it water just getting through the system? Mike

I think first the windscreen seal or the one baulkhead to windsceen frame, and I thought yours was a water tight one. 2.4 90 XS

My 90 leaks in the same place as yours by the sound of it, I always thought it was through the heater recirculation vent, only now and again and enough to make a small puddle on the mat.

My dealer says he cant find a leak as the water out of a hose is a different viscosity to rain water,,,, Must be a relation of Stevie Wonder................

Thats the one - its not leaking as a leak i think the water is getting in the wing vent and down into the box through to the mat on heavy rain.

Ive tried the hose, power wash and dealer - we all cant get it to leak on the window/door/seals/joints and having seen this straight out the middle of this vent - its not the standard leak, no damp on the bulkhead or dash - so...why; ill see when i change the vents. Mike

similar problem different side though?

noticed nothing for a couple of months (although perhaps we didn't have much rain -cant remember) and now a wet mat, dripping from what appears to be the bottom bracket for the dash board next to the retaining arm / strap for the door.

Has anyone had the problem of the leak resolved, just booked mine into the dealers this morning as I had a small swimming pool on the passengers footwell side this morning, after huge downpour in sunny Derby last night Very Happy . It would be nice to take her in and have some info for them. Cogito ergo sum

Ours has finally been resolved after 5 or so visits to the dealers. It was taken to a 3rd party LR body shop three times and stripped and water tested. It seems to have done the trick although i won't be surprised to see a few drops on the mat in the winter. Bulkhead was the culprit apparently.

As the main dealer told me when we were in full flow (excuse the pun) of arguments, "9/10 Defenders leak - farmers expect it"

We were told that it was hard for them to test for leaks as rain water "is finer than tap water" and therefore might not penetrate the gaps in the overnight water test.

I must get that tattoo saying 'gullible' removed from my forehead.
