Where's the best place to fit a CB radio on a TDCI defender so that it's accessible but not in the way or look daft?

Thanks.

Pics would be great!

Mines on the back of the cubby box. Works well as long as you dont need to change channel too often or look at it for any reason.

mines on the front of my cubby, the mike clip screwd to one of the blank switches so as not to put holes in my dash, but my cubby is a non standard size and not sure it would work with a standard cubby.

I mounted my remote head Uniden UHF unit on a ply insert I bolted to the underside of the cubby box. That way I have not had to drill into the dash or other areas. The main box is under the driver seat with a remote speaker fitted to the right of the head. The speaker could easily be hidden behind the dash if required.

Will have to change it in the next few years as we are going to 80 channel UHF.

Side of the cubby box secured with double sided body tape direct to the body of the rig. Power straight from the battery and feed cables via grommet in the seatbox. Steve.

On this one I bought a secure cubby box and mounted it in that so it could belocked away.

On the defender before that one I mounted it on the rear of the factory fitted cuby box.

Is that some kind of time machine mounted to the front of it?

I'd try the same, but Td5s won't do 88mph Laughing

Na its a marine switch pannel that controld the extra lights/fridge/worklights ect.

If it had been a time machine I would have gone back and NOT bought that perticular land rover Neutral

I used the MSS route in the Tombraider 90 - but they won't fit the Pumas unless you lose the cup holders which I NEED for my coffee Laughing John

I drilled new holes in the cubby box floor and moved it back a couple of inches. Does not protrude into the rear foot area too much and I can now use the cup holders Thumbs Up

Hmm, bit late now as I fitted a Nak under cubby safe.

Good idea though - should have thought of trying that before Laughing John
