well that might just be a bit premature but.......
(firstly thanks to whoever mentioned it on here somewhere - I've forgot and my search skills leave alot to be desired). so 2011 MY 110XS and I've had doubts from the day I bought as to whether things were right or wrong. within 50 yrds of leaving the forecourt it kangarooed and then nothing. it happend once may twice more then its not happened since. however i have had concered over it running smooth and then not smooth at various speeds and for varying amounts of time. most annoying being crusing along the motorway at my favourite speed - 33mpg average.....I mean about 55mph and there's an almost constant resonating. checked and checked again the heat shield. more recently I sounded like it was related to the air intake, so I'm thinking could it be the MAF sensor - would / could this change the amount of air intake? THEN someone on here mentioned it the airbox lid fitted properly !!!!! no it wasn't clips were on but the back of the lid wasn't tucked in properly - now it is and this appears to have made a difference. the jury is out until tomorrow when I'm off to Swansea and back so I'll let you know how I get on. So all I can say for the fews seconds it takes to check - check it. ![]() |

Glad it worked. Mine was not refitted correctly after a service and it lead to a very noisey engine. Should be checked as standard after a service. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

This happened to my old Toyota - made a noise under power like the exhaust was blowing. Fortunately spotted the real cause before I bought a whole new exhaust!
