Just had the clutch and front brakes changed as a £1.2k precaution and I now have this rather noisy rattle at idle.
https://youtu.be/2s0h8EGhwPY It disappears when the pedal is depressed and when revved to 2k+ any ideas? Forgot to say the output shaft was replaced and greased at the same time. All clunking has vanished. |

Yep, mine’s a slightly tweaked 300Tdi, so I went for the LOF powerspec (I think) - uprated anyway.
When the gearbox is cold - no noise; when it warms up and the oil thins, it chatters away. I got in touch with Luke at LOF and Dave Ashcroft (who’d supplied a rebuilt gearbox) and am told it’s just one of those things, but that it will do no harm. Just the gears chattering together, but not wearing. I’ve pondered a sound deadening blanket but not got too bothered yet. As in the OP it’s only when idling that it’s an issue. It was just a case of it bedding in. All rattles have gone thankfully.
