£170.9 for diesel and £155.9 for petrol at local Costco for about 3 weeks now. It’s too far to make the trip for fuel alone but I brim if I’m there for other reasons.

it needs to drop down further than that, but it's a start though. Still a mick take though, plus Diesel been a lot more expensive than petrol. The AA bangs on about petrol prices going silly, what about diesel owners, its 10p more than petrol. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Unfortunately for the consumer the press and politicians have moved the focus over to gas and electric.

The British public has a history of moaning, getting on with it, forgetting it then moaning about something else.

Those making money from fuel prices are rubbing their hands with glee knowing that they can carry on with the added bonus that more people are returning to the office and need to fill the car.

If anything the current position shows that electric vehicles aren't the be all end all so perhaps a mixture of both should be the way forward.

Exactly that, people should have what they want and no one should be banned, freedom prevented or in any way disadvantaged in the process.
And pricing should be similar across the board to ensure a close equality so no one particular “fuel type” has an advantage over another.

As the saying goes, if the system isn’t broke don’t fix it. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Trouble is oil is traded in US Dollars, and the GB Pound is not dong well against the USD.

Heating oil is going up as well yet no caps on that in the way gas and electricity is capped, and people have to buy a min of 500litres at a time which can be a killer as they are at the mercy of the market when they get low.
This hits 1.5 million homes in the UK and impacts rural areas that are also being hit heavy on petrol and diesel prices as there’s precious little public transport.

Absolutely Ian. I have just had Red diesel delivered, which runs my generator. At £1.05 a litre it is more than double last years price.
Those of us like that and on oil heating have had no help from government so far. Those on oil may get something but it may depend who they are supplied by.
It will be heat or eat for lots of them. 1995 Defender 110 CSW
