The leak will be from the 5,10,11,12 bits. Just replace the lot. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Adds up to quite a bill for genuine parts! Just over £200.

Don’t forget to check that the breather tube isn’t blocked or been crushed asomewhere along it’s length…

There are decent non genuine parts out there. This might not be your particular model but just an example of the cost

If the seal area of the drive flange (13) is not pitted or severely gloved, then just change the oil seal (12). Why replace otherwise good parts? 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

^^^ This. 12 and possibly 13 is all you need. You can't replace the bearing without stripping the diff (you can't remove the outer race with the pinion in place).

Check the prop shaft UJ’s too, as one of these had failed on mine and caused a rear diff oil leak. Had it repaired and the leak came back and only after that did it get noticed it was a prop shaft UJ and no one noticed it but me deliberately checking for it and you could barely tell unless the prop shaft is off. No Guts, No Glory.
