I've been using a 'Baseus' plug-in charger for a few months now and it has been very good as well as avoiding some of the problems discussed above. It has the option of USB or USB-C and charges at up to 65W so it will cope with charging bigger stuff. But the main reason I bought it was that it has a digital voltage read-out and I got it in the winter when I was keen to ensure my battery was OK. Mine came from eBay (item eBay Item No. 393055352222 - you'll need to choose which variant you want) but they are also on Amazon. Cheers, Guy.

As glpinxit. Why go through the hassle of replacing the 12V port? I have something very similar to this. Since technology is constantly changing, I already want to replace mine from 2x USB type A to one with a USB Type C.
