Procta , it’s no 2.0ltr JCWorks version but still great fun - claimed 0-60 is 7 secs but it feels way faster than that and although it has no gears I can spin the wheels dead easy even flooring it at 50mph. It has 181hp through the front wheels and 199lbft of torque from zero rpm. Plenty of the folks on the Mini SE group also have or have had ICE engined Minis and they say the Cooper SE is much more fun. It’s a city car really with 100 miles range at this time of year but getting on for 145 in the summer. It’s battery is only 28.9kWhr usable - 32.5 rated and while it might have smaller than usual range that small battery means it charges quickly and it’s efficient too I’m regularly seeing 4miles/kWhr which is better than it’s lightweight sister the carbon fibre BMWi3 can do……… on wider tyres and with a steel body. For me it’s range isn’t an issue even though I live out in the sticks. I’m 16 miles from the nearest supermarket one way and 25 miles from the centre of Glasgow in the other direction and there’s loads of chargers in between in case I get anxious…….. I have a wall charger at home (to take advantage of various grants before they dry up and I start to have to pay to use public chargers at significantly more than I pay of cheap rate lecky. I don’t have any special tariffs from my supplier other than normal 14.8/kW off peak from Bulb but there are much cheaper EV tariffs from the likes of Octopus Energy. I topped off the battery during last night on off peak for 80p ready for a round trip into Glasgow City Centre tomorrow - fallen tress permitting!

saying that, about how quick this is, the new leaf isnt exactly slow, one of those got fired off the lights and it just took off! I would say that would have given some serious hot hatch a run up to 70mph. But at least your mini i can see, can have the bolt on stuff from the performance models if it hasn't already got that, where with the leaf, bot all mods. But who the hell will want to fiddle on with one let a lone a nissan Laughing Believe me, they are flung together, with cheapest of the cheapest crap. I'd say £2.00 + per litre became inevitable at around three o'clock GMT this morning and will happen very soon indeed. Shocked

Gas prices already up 30% this morning.

Both Bent Crude and Gas futures have dropped by 0.8% and 22% this morning according to the BBC News app Business section - FTSE has come back up to 7355 (up 148 pts at 1130) and the news that Russian troops are in the suburbs of Kyiv doesn’t seem to be holding back the FTSE at the moment.

I drove passed the local Sainsbury forecourt yesterday in my Mini and noticed that since I filled up the Defender last week the price of diesel had climbed to £1.479 a litre. Felt smug when I added 19kW of electrons to the Mini’s battery for nowt after doing the shopping with a top up at home of 5kW to fill it to 100% SOC for 74p overnight on the offpeak electricity tariff

Defender isn’t going to cost me very much in fuel for the next approx 3 months as it’s stuck at the dealers waiting for a replacement rear panel that is on back order at the factory…………. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

My neighbour has just informed me that there are now queues again at all the local filling stations, just as there were when the complete absence of a fuel shortage resulted in panic buying and a consequential fuel shortage.

Let us hope that it is just a blip.

As for the last "fuel crisis", it is journalists that are stirring things up re fuel "shortages" and hence the queues.

£1.57 around here today (diesel).

They always seem to put the prices up Thursday afternoons and drop them again Monday pm. Basically don't buy over the weekends...

Regular unleaded goes for about 2,20 EUR per litre around here, with recent affairs in Ukraine promising nothing good for things to come (obviously in more ways than the price of petrol, duh... ) Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000
