I've been told about the yellow relays - wrong, the pink relay - wrong .. can't be that difficult any ideas?

Not sure about the 300TDi, but on my Puma I simply unplugged the resistor pack (on the Puma it is in the RH wing in front of the aerial - not easy to find), that is all that is needed.

An unexpected advantage to this also came when my dip/main switch contacts melted (another common problem) leaving me with no dip beam - I simply connected the two terminals in the disconneted connector together to give full dip beam on sidelights. A useful get-you-home fix.

thanks Grockle, is that behind the dash or under the bonnet side of the firewall ?

I've been told about the pink relay behind the dash, will try that if the resistor approach fails.

i made the mistake of putting in hi rated bulbs 80/100 then found out after it burnt out the switch that the currant was to much for it and the current runs through the switch Censored i had to strip it all down and the best bit was that i was in heraford when this happened so a small bodge ie ignition live to the dip beam on the back of the block to get me home wont do that again lol

hi Grockle

I've had a look on the bulkhead and can't see anything obvious .. can you tell me what I should be looking for ? there is a relay jobbie next to the fuse box on the right but from my knowledge a resistor would probably be a ceramic block with wires wrapped around it ... got a picture mate ?

cheers
