Trailer Wiring (TD5)
Since ive had the car the trailer connection has been fine, the other day half the lights went on the trailer, so I traced the wires back up and found a non standard trailer wiring kit with a junction box with a buzzer in in the passenger side in the metal housing on the rear light cluster (its a pickup).

Am I right in thinking the Defener has a plug and play slot somewhere else for the trailer I can use if I get rid of the non standard one?

Yes you are right. There should be a multi-plug sitting on top of the rear cross-member on the drivers side.

Wonderful that should make life a bit easier, I'd assumed that this would have been how mine was done as I had no reason to check it before, it appears some people like to make things harder for others when they install things...

at least I know that one should then work, if it doesn't then I'm going to have to start tracing trailer wires... Big Cry

It would have been a matter of cost. The LR loom and plug was once quite expensive when compared to a DIY special.

The part number is YWJ101500: https://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/ywj10150...-2006.html

Someone had hacked the main loom connector off mine and replaced it with a Scotchlok bodge from hell before I bought it. This caused nothing but trouble and repairing the damage was a nightmare, mainly due to the poor access behind the o/s/r wheel (an area famous for being clean and dry - not)!

Its almost cheaper in terms of time to find out if this is a proper fix.
