I thought it was just ATF for the Power steering box, pretty certain that's all I've used

I think when I looked into this I ended up using Central Hydraulic Fluid, not ATF. I asked Opie Oils, but it was a while ago and I can’t find the email now. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I had mine topped up last week by my local Landrover independent as I had a graunching noise. He told me that it should be 'the red stuff' that is auto transmission fluid. When filling he said the level should be between the 2 marks when the cap is fully screwed on (not just dipped in). By the way, topping it up has cured the graunching noise. Hope this helps.

Should be just normal red ATF, top up to level with the engine running. Ride like you stole it!!

Thank you. |

Or just buy a 500ml or a litre bottle of ATF from Halfords or your local motor factors like everyone else does 😉

Only if you are adding to fully synthetic fluid already in your system and you don’t want to mix it. Ride like you stole it!!

OK, thank you. Sometimes I wish I had never checked anything! I dont know what is already in there so I guess I am safer just to change the whole lot, its only 1.6lt I think. What a flaming faff!
Thanks for the help chaps, much appreciated. |

I always put ATF or red power steering fluid in it.
They should all do pretty much the same thing at the end of the day 110 Td5 Van |

I think the reality is that pretty much any oil that says it can be used in hydraulic power steering is probably fine. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
