Plenty clear, they’re protected in part by the top of the spring retainer. The spring retainer sticks out about 5-6” where as the reservoir is only 2” thick right above it. Yes if you had mud terrains and drove through clay they might get dirty but it’ll fine for me. My friend has has his mounted like this for 2 years and he does serious off-roading with 33’s and has never run into any issues

I've done stuff like that before, thinking I've found the perfect mounting place for something, spent ages putting it together and they realised after lots of effort it's not going to work, just checking that you aren't making the same mistakes as me |

Went for a quick drive last night for 10 minutes after we finished fitting at 1AM. Had it on the softest setting front and rear and it’s wildly different. I run front springs on the front and rear and although it’s a bit wallowy the wallow is so controlled it doesn’t feel sketchy at all. The steering felt slightly odd, if you put in a tight quick movement the front outer corner dips and wants to dig in so I think I’ll add a couple of clicks of compression on the front just to help the steering feel and stabilise the front slightly. I bombed up a road I know with a poor and uneven surface at about 60-70 and the truck felt so floaty like the cabin was floating over the axles. I’ve never experienced a vehicle that feels like the defender does now. It’s by no means a perfect ride but it feels like the axles are moving so much and soaking up everything. You can hit those small nasty speed bumps at speed and they’re completely gone now. I will have to fiddle and crank up the compression at some point and see how it feels but honestly at the moment I love the floaty feel

What are the fox shocks for a 2" lift that would be suitable for the D90 without changing brackets? part number if possible and the best place to buy them from.

Don’t forget to buy some form of protection for the shafts either the rubber boots or plastic guards

Thought id give you a quick update. Still running the shocks on the softest setting really enjoying the ride comfort and I’m more used to the bit of movement they give now too. So haven’t turned them up yet. I will have to experiment with it at some point and definitely will adjust them if I’m carrying any load. The car feels like it rattles less purely because the harshness is gone. One thing that is very noticeable is how well the wheels track the ground the grip is immense and it feels so planted. It’s got rid of the skitty/skippy feel when it hits big bumps.
Got my rivnuts in my front wing to mount the reservoir the way I wanted up front and fitted some rivnuts in the rear so I could get my pipe clips on. Had a mare on one side and put it slightly in the wrong place so I’ve ended up with 2 rivnuts fitted on one side.
