Wiring loom Deutsch, DT Automotive Connectors
I'm looking to make up a harness to fit strip lights to my defender. I'm planning on using Deutsch, DT Automotive Connectors but not sure which connectors I need. I think I have a choose between standard or with end cap, can anyone advise what the difference is between the two.

There is also a choice between standard or thin walled connectors, which is better.

With cap just means there is a cap that retains the wire seal, see this document.. ('long cap' provides a lip to anchor a heatshrink boot to) https://www.te.com/commerce/DocumentDelive...%7FDT04-3P 1989 90 4.3 V8

Great, just the information I needed and looking at the connectors I can see the difference now. I'm assuming using heat shrink makes the job tidier and potentially improved it waterproofing

Yes, heatshrink boots are the top tier for creating a sealed harness, you can use Raychem Atum with a 3:1 shrink ratio that will be large enough to fit over the connector but shrink small enough to seal onto the cable bundle. Much cheaper than boots also! 1989 90 4.3 V8
