Motorway put an estimate in then once you upload all the pics and details they offer it to authorised dealers who bid on it. They then give you the best price so you can end up getting more than they quote. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

Or a lot less. I tried listing my low mileage 2019 Golf GTD. The process with Motorway was long-winded to say the least. You have to upload exactly the pictures they want (4 x exterior (one from each corner), 4 x wheels/tyres from the side, 4 x tyres showing the tread contacting the road, boot, dashboard, front seats, rear). You then have to ring them up to activate your sale. I was on hold for 50 minutes trying to do this. They made a fuss that I hadn't provided proof of the service history, even though it's now digital. I told them I had some invoices, which they accepted as "proof". I had a random text message the next day telling me that I hadn't uploaded all the photos I should, that didn't tell me which photos were missing.

They went through the details of my car, getting me to upload photos of stone chips on the front end and listed it with a reserve price of just over £26K. The auction was the following day, and the highest bid received was £24K. I turned them down.

Do WBAC care about dealer fitted accessories? They certainly don't seem to care about optional extras.

No, WBAC don’t offer against accessories when they quote online, don’t know if it makes any difference when they do their on site inspection, I doubt it as all I’ve read and heard is that they try to do everything that they can to find fault so that they can reduce the valuation. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

It would be interesting to see what the private sale price would be. Are there many people out there who are desperate to get their hands on a new Defender and happy to pay over the odds.

Not me and the money is sitting there.

Been keeping my eye out for an SI6 D5 the last few weeks as a backup and the stock / prices are still the same.

No. If I was to do this (which I won't, and can't anyway because its been trapped at the dealership for three weeks now) I'd remove everything I could and sell them separately - what would an LR Rack, Ladder, Lunchbox, Set of Duratracs, Rubber Boot Floor Mat and Deep Rubber Mats be worth? Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

You are better approaching a LR dealer to see what they will offer.

I have sold both mine to Sytner’s the first one a P300 a couple of months ago for basically what I paid for it & I had bought it from a specialist LR independent so knew I had paid a bit over the top, as my V8 was due to be delivered.

I have since sold the V8 it was a great car but it was just not worth £50k more than the P300 so I took a £10k profit and have moved on !

At work we have had an order for 3 90 commercials cancelled as the Dec delivery date has been pushed back 12 to 18 months - I assume the chips they are getting will go into more lucrative models.

So for now defenderless & driving a Volvo !

I hope the supply situation sorts itself out over the next year but not sure it will so you can make a bit of money on your car but you will over pay on whatever you replace it with or it will depreciate more so sometimes but the devil you know 😊

I recently got offered a big premium on my new 90 Defender Hard Top but exactly as you say, my replacement will be overpriced so what's the point unless you can buy another sought after new car which is almost impossible in this market.

I'm in the same boat here. I bought a D240SE with loads of extras back in March, somehow managed to get 10%+ discount and I have a firm offer from my local dealership for £8.5k over what I paid.

On a £6.5k PCP deposit, I'm finding it very hard to justify sitting on it and waiting for the day it takes a £15k drop.

Not a bad probelm to have, but I actually appear to have a good one, no problems other than a bit of A pillar noise. D240 SE 110-Tasman
