Wonder what that would look like length wise if they parked it in any of the parking spaces around my neck of the woods..

Looks a bit too long for most places. My 90 fills up a lot of car park spaces around here. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

Agreed. It's hard enough parking the 110 - and I suspect the side steps have saved me from minor knocks at the supermarket.

I am praying they will release a 5 seat 130 commercial version with a boot big enough to swallow my tools and my MTB without taking wheels off

I believe it would still need a 1000kg payload to have 5 seats and qualify as commercial (similar to the old 110 USW). Given the extra weight of the new models, it could be tight getting it in at GVW of under 3500kg.
The 110HT are all rated to <900KG load. |

I hope the proportions look better when it doesn't have the disruptive wrap! In that form it looks pretty ghastly.

I can't believe they will leave the tire back there. The proportions would look so much better if they removed it and put it under the car, LR4 style, IMHO. Plus, I would have serious trouble parking an extra foot of Defender in my existing garage at home, best case scenario it would be a real tight fit. 2020 NAS Defender 110 HSE 5-seater / Silver / Khaki / Black Pack / Black Roof / Satin Film / Cold Pack / Off-Road Pack / Advanced OR Pack / Comfort + Convenience Pack / Sirius + HD radio / HUD / Meridian Surround

They must be using the parts bin for the back door. Seems an obvious opportunity with the increased rear overhang to sling the wheel underneath. They could use the existing disco winch mechanism. The spare like that exagerates the length even further. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

You forget there is a full width exhaust across the back and the floor compartment holds the MHEV gubbins
They would need to move lots of things around to drop it in the boot - from inside - or change the exhaust system completely for the rear underneath access. Then also - everyone will complain that a Defender cant have a wheel underneath - because when you have a puncture in the middle of a bog - you cant get it out... so they wont win either way.... |

Good point on the exhaust, wonder if the disco has a different exhaust setup to accommodate it they would have to use those. The bogged down bit us true, changed a wheel in a muddy paddock on my D3 once and swore about the design a few times 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE
