It's just a shame that JLR no longer makes any interesting vehicles any more, so the fact that it's employed hydrogen experts is irrelevant to me. Rolling with laughter

hydrogen is great except for the onboard storage tanks need to be massive to achieve any meaningful distance. Hydrogen is really explosive so the tanks need to be properly robust.

JCB are saying the storage tanks are the same volume as the diesel tanks achieving similar run times. Seem to be like for like.

Much the same could be said for batteries in an EV - they need to be massive (and staggeringly expensive) to achieve the same range, and the burn uncontrollably under certain circumstances. At least hydrogen offers refuelling times comparable to current ICE vehicles.

Refuelling times do seem to be similar for one off comparisons, but I've read reports from California that they seem to fall down if there are a number of cars in a queue wanting to refuel sequentially (ie, in real world conditions) with icing issues.
