not so much a rolling upgrade, more like maintenance. My wipers were starting not to wipe the screen properly, i did manage to buy a set of replacement units, of what i had before. Looks like those are now discounted, could i hell get hold of a set of the 306, so i bought another set for the parts stash.
Also my landy seems to have developed a touch of french electrics on the rear indicators. A bit of a fiddle on the rear bulbs and all is working again, so they must have moved. But the mot tester changed all 4 for the test to be sure, for the very 1st mot, when i bought her. Also i have rolled out a bit of an experiment, due to the water in the foot wells again smelling out the cab. So we will see how this goes. Looks like i will have to replace the two piece of carpet i the floor pans sadly. also gave my steering wheel a tighten too, as it was starting to get a bit of play in the boss, so a few seconds with the allen Key fixed that Stuck down the badge too at work, with some primer and M3 tape. This wheel is a bit of a nightmare quality wise, i have had to glue down the fake leather part, with in a matter of months of owning the wheel. I may look at another wheel next year, but this one looks quite OEM for me, and its smaller making driving nicer too. Good bit of maintenance there on Beatie
It would pay to leave the carpet out until you have found the leak, no more damp smell 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper. Clayton. |

Well today was a good day for beatie, Two upgrades to Beatie have happened!
One little treat for you lads, I bought this kit just before new year, and sort of did a rolling out installing it, as i had to replace a few parts of the dash, with the weather been spot on, my dad helped me do the final bits, He has been red hot on wanting to see the finished job, but has gave me some advice to check a few problems, as they are not working yet from that Click image to enlarge to this Click image to enlarge Also with the weather been great, my mum helped me fit these, which my sister got me for Xmas. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge And Beatie is a member of the club now! Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge yeah the window seal has seen better days and so has the window screen, another job that i will have to do at some point. So tomorrow got to do some diag work on the spots, they are not powering on, so i am suspecting the fault is at the switch end or something. sorted the spot lamp problem, i had the wire in the wrong pin, and one of the wires were not contacting the switch. A little bit of a shove with a very small screw driver and that was sorted.
They look great, my dad thinks they are better than his!, which i don't think so as his has a 3 way system dipped and full beam. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

Very nice... I keep contemplating some fog type lights ready for the fog we get here on the cold mornings.. Have you got a heated windscreen? worth upgrading if you are going to change anyway... 1993 200Tdi Defender 90 |

Looks like Beatie has an Major oil leak, turns out the second mini oil filter housing the thread has gave way, and its been slightly open. A longer bolt in and a clean down, lets hope that sorts it. The remaining oil under the guard is going to make a mess at work! Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
