Coolant hose clips… and fuel filter casing
Hi all,

I’m partway through my first ever service on my 90.. ahead of my trip northerly to do the NC500 Very Happy learning plenty about maintenance as I muddle through but wondered if someone might be able to help with the muddling.

Trying to fathom how to undo the clips attached to the coolant hose so I can drain… do I need a specialist tool? (Apologies not mechanically-minded) or can I go at it with a pair of pliers… if so it looks like I’d have to replace with a new clip they’re pretty robust!

Whilst I’m here I attempted to replace the fuel filter too, but came a cropper as the bolts on the housing have seized on and the bolt appears to round when I try it, have wire brushed back and sprayed with Pen oil and will try again I guess. Suggestions… hammer a socket on and have a go? Impact gun? (Are these stupid ideas? Whistle )

Many thanks for help in advance

Tom

Hose clip pliers are your friend, example below - loads of makes and prices.

 Rgds.

Which bolts on the fuel filter ?
The cover is held on with a turn clip and the actual filter just unscrews from the housing.
Can you attach a photo ?

A set of extended / flexible ones are great for the hard to reach hose clips.

Hi,

Yes I was expecting that too having watched the tutorial vids, sadly its an M8 bolt holding it on pretty firmly. Hoping another go at it later after the lubricant has been at it will work. Otherwise I’ve no clue..how essential is a fuel filter renewal anyway Whistle

Ah brilliant, as the the hose in question is right at the bottom of the engine bay this might be the one I need- many thanks for the heads up!
