2.2 limp mode and fault codes
Afternoon all. Posting on behalf of my Dad who has a 2012 MY 2.2 Puma.

He is having issues with it going into limp mode, which has now happened several times. He says that it is happening under acceleration / moderate engine load e.g. getting up to speed when pulling out of junctions and then it goes into limp mode.

He's had a local mechanic have a look at it who replaced one of the sensors - he said it was the most accessible one on the top hose. Unsure which sensor that actually is? But it has once again gone into limp mode recently.

There are a number of fault codes logged which are:

P06BA-00 - Cylinder 2 - Glow plug circuit - Range / performance
P06BB-00 - Cylinder 3 - Glow plug circuit - Range / performance
P007D-15 - Charge air cooler temperature sensor - Circuit high - Bank 1
P0045-13 - Turbo / supercharger boost control solenoid circuit / open
P2263-22 - Turbo / supercharger boost system performance

He says that all the hoses have been checked for splits / loose clamps and all are OK. It is a pretty low milage 90 (around 25k) so I'm guessing it's most likely to be a sensor / electrical issue?

Any suggestions as to where the fault may lie gratefully received! 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

The first two won't cause limp mode.
Third one won't cause limp, only over/underfuelling.
The last two will and look to be an issue with the turbo actuator or variable turbo geometry vanes.

I have read that the actuator wiring can chafe/wear through near the connector so check there first.

If all ok, disconnect the rod between actuator to turbo (remove one c-clip - be careful not to lose it!) then start the engine and see whether the turbo actuator (black box) motor wiggles back and forth. Give it a prod and it should try to return to centre.
If that seems ok feel the rod/lever at the turbo end to feel for smoothness of operation. If it's notchy/sticky then you have internal turbo issues. > 110 XS Double Cab

You can see in this video the actuator is trying to act and move the rod but there is resistance at the turbo end meaning the actuator/rod cannot move. You want to check that both actuator and turbo end can move freely
