200TDi losing power...
Hello!,

Over the past year or so I have noticed that my 110 SW 200TDi has/is losing some power, especially towards the top end. While it used to be able to get up to and maintain 70 quite happily it now struggles and the slightest hill quickly sees me having to down shift.

The fuel pump is new. Is it worth getting the injector pump refurb'ed/buy a replacement?

Any suggestions on good places to get them refurb'ed please?

Thanks,

Richard

Give Millers Power EcoMax a go before you go down that road.

It could be the vanes in the turbo wearing. Take off the hose going to the turbo and see how much play there is. There will be slight play but you will know if it is excessive. I had a turbo rebuid at 180,000 miles (+/_) owing to excessive wear. Being down on power would be a symptom of this. If you have clean filters etc, I'd suspect the turbo. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Many thanks all for the suggestions.

The filters are new so I'll check out the Turbo and maybe the Millers additive.

regards,

Richard

Losing power without smoke tends to indicate a restriction in the supply of fuel.
