Dynamics are completely different now - which is good, I like it. Whereas before clearly it was JC's show and the other two played second fiddle, now we have Freddie and Paddy as the loud mouth leads and Chris Harris trying to keep them on the straight and narrow.
Looking forward to tomorrow's show! Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history) |

I saw a 110 parking near Regent's Park the other day and what stood out most for me was the black plastic door handles. They looked terrible.
I've checked my spec (only an S) and it appears mine will have body-coloured handles. What cars get black? |

The first New Defenders 2020 in Base and S got the black grained doorhandles, by the 2021 model only the Base got the black handles.
Of course it is personal, but to say that is terrible... I like the black grained more, less posh. More practical ( you don't see scratches on it) Anyway JLR decided to add the easy Entry on the S, they come with painted doorhandles. No Mud flaps for my 90.! ----------------------------------------- P300 S MY21 on air, adv.+ offroad pack, DRL+fog, Dinamica Suedecloth + Ebony headliner/Cross Beam- Many Mods.. |

The problem I’ve had with grained plastics on previous cars, is it goes grey. Discovery wheel arches, side sills, windscreen scuttle panel etc.
You can revive with various concoctions- even peanut butter apparently, but it will go ugly grey. I’m pleased that LR now paint the scuttle, the side sills (on my Dynamic X) etc. Just the rusting ad blue tank cover to worry about now 😂 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy 1968 S2a 88 aka Bob 2014 Jaaaag F Type 3.0 Supercharged. |

I don’t mind the grained plastics, all easily replaced. What I’m not a fan of is the 22MY XS with all its body coloured bits and pieces. It’s a bit too much for me. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

The base models all have black door handles according to the configurator, everything above that has body coloured handles Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

Definitely more urban look. Great spec and value for money though but I agree I’m not a fan of that look on a defender. |

Classic mudflaps seem to be keeping mine clean. Early days yet, but no chips yet. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy 1968 S2a 88 aka Bob 2014 Jaaaag F Type 3.0 Supercharged. |

I see that some Facebook owners are confusing it with the exhaust/muffler. JLR issued this for that: SSM 75174 - Customer Complains of Rear Muffler Discoloured Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge In terms of JLR's response, they will hopefully be following what they have done previously for other models with similar issues: Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Again, the real issue is why isn't the company applying lessons learnt and ensuring they are not just repeating known failures? You can't be serious about calling yourself a premium brand and allow this to happen? |

Just make these bulletins more difficult for the public to access, like the Germans do. |
