Yes or No? Terrafirma Big Bore Exhaust Tail Pipe
Despite appearing to be one of the most common aftermarket rear exhaust parts on the mainstream parts websites, I haven't been able to find many reviews on Terrafirma Big Bore Exhaust Tail Pipe 3".

My current exhaust set up is a stainless steel straight through mid pipe, with factory cat and rear silencer. I understand exhaust bore diameters are a bit of a touchy subject, however considering I still have my cat in would back pressure be much of an issue?

Would I be better of saving up for a decat pipe with cat shell and keeping my rear silencer on, or could the terraform big bore exhaust be a enjoyable stand in whilst I save my pennies for a nice decat pipe?

Diesels dont need back pressure in the same way some petrols do.

The exhuast sounds good but just like everything else TF the steel used is VERY low quality i had rust/pitting after winter then finall blew thru a few weeks later. Granted i do quite high mileage (350m+ a week) but still expected more than 8 months and one winter from it.

This is mine with a decat, stainless "bullet" mid box and a 3" rear box.

Now has a 3" downpipe as well. Instagram @defender_ventures

What do you want from an exhaust?
If it’s free reving and more noise remove the cat. The cat makes a huge difference, unlike the tiny rear box that doesn’t really do much.

If you want to try a decat pipe on, and want a cheap one let me know. Removed mine yesterday to swap across to a Demand system.

Decat on diesel is a must, My 306 HDI has rocked with out a cat for nearly 12 years. It made the turbo spool quicker and its a lot more free to rev too. After my pal drove 306 after the cat was removed, the 1st thing he did to his diesels was to remove the cats. He drove the 306 the very 1st day after i bought it, so he knew the improvements. Also My 300 TDI was lot more happier with out the CAT, But for the love of money buy a decent exhaust system, if you are going for the full smash.
Brit part and Terrafirma don't cut the mustard with me, Ok for a quick MOT fix.
Brit part stuff i had to replace with in a year, and Terrrafirma suspension was better than what i had on the 300 tdi, and looked like it had been the car for 10 years, with in a matter of weeks. Rolling Eyes Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
