I've had some success in the past with that type of glue - Araldite or similar. Darren

If it in a thick enough area of the card, you can fit a short countersunk woodscrew with a head of an appropriate size to fit the nylon pin.

Just did this repair a couple of months ago with Gorilla Glue two pack stuff. Failed the first time but the second time I left it clamped for ages and worked a treat. Still solid even after a test removal of door card. |

Loctite/Hardman Double Bubble Epoxy works wonders and can be purchased in measured single use sachets that are pre measured

I personally never had good success using epoxies (Areldite is an epoxy as well) on plastics.
I think polyurethane glues are better for this application. I use Wurth bond and seal a lot, and I bet that it is very strong in this application. I would still roughen a bit, especially the plastic thingy, and a good wipe with thinner (not white spirit). 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |
