I asked about seat coverings and didn't get anywhere. But they also tried to say there was not a fault so more the merrier when it comes to raising the problem.

On another topic, don'y suppose you have the brochure when you got the car? I can't find the one I downloaded and I'm having a 'debate' with JLR about the activity key and the none existent headlamp washer on my first edition. 2020 Defender 110 First Edition with a couple of factory options

I thought the headlamp washers couldn’t be specced on the First Edition as they are part of the cold climate pack that isn’t available on FE’s Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

It's a Technical Bulletin now, at least here in North America (JLRTB02070NAS1.) I have a copy of the PDF but can't figure out a way to attach it to this message. However, it pretty much tells the dealer to use a wet vac such as a Bissell, soak the fabric with clean water first and then gently vacuum it out, let dry and return to customer. According to the TB, the fabrics manufacturer used an incorrect treatment.

Does beg the question how many times JLR are prepared to do this remedial action rather than replace covers with correct treatment?

For those not on Facebook, LR have upgraded the seats on Base, S and SE from Leather+Fabric to Leather+Leather for MY22.
Reported by Tim from Scotland from on here

Alongside this it also appears they've done the same upgrade on the last of the MY21's - on the same FB thread, three people have reported receiving their MY21's very recently like this!

@Steve

Regarding the Leather+Leather upgrade and you noticed it on FB, I just went through the FB page landrover.uk and could not see it.

Is there a specific FB page for defenders? And, lastly, is it just the cloth that has the issue of water staining, I hav on order "Acorn/Lunar Windsor leather and Robustec seats with Lunar interior" and having 3 nippers water where it should not be is a daily routine Wink Smile 1992 - Defender 90

2020 - Ordered 110 X-Dynamic HSE MY21.5 (hoping big enough for the family)
2021 - MY21.5 Cancelled by JLR, MY22 ordered, awaiting dates :/

From what I’ve read recently the staining issue relates to the woven textile fabric seat on FE, SE models and below. The Robustec fabric on the higher spec models is a different material and appears unaffected.

Well I hope so or I’ll be asking for full Windsor Leather Whistle

If you're not on Facebook here is a link to a zip file containing the official JLR document that Tim's screenshot came from

http://stevenicklin.com/downloads/my22newdef.zip

Also happens to contain a bonus official JLR Order Guide spreadsheet for MY22... grab it while you can! Whistle Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I'm not sure how I feel about this - the half leather half fabric seats are really nice. My car is being built this week so I fear it may fall into this all-leather solution.

i bit the bullet some time back and went with the Melvill & Moon seat covers, i was going to buy them for my
Aussie lap anyhow to protect against red bull dust, sand, damp etc, but with the dust/greying affect
on the textile elements of the seats during every day use, i ordered and just fitted them well in advance

Very good quality and fit, the installer just needs a bit more practice Whistle Laughing

Aha - are you one of the five on FB (including me) who all have today as their build date?
Seeing as there a few instances reported on FB of vehicles being delivered with 'upgraded' full leather already, I am assuming mine will be as yours would be.

I guess the only outstanding query would be whether the order was ebony or acorn.
Mine is acorn. What's yours? Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

@SN - I'm not on Facebook, so it's not me, but my build date is today.

And I specified Khaki interior which appears to be less popular based on your post!

I have the khaki leather/robust woven fabric it’s lovely. I got the fabric stain guarded with 4 coats and no problems in the first 5 weeks of ownership not one stain.
