Trying to decide if I want adjustable if I'm going for the remote reservoir...
Seems like a fair price though! |

Yeah, they're non-adjustable but for that price I couldn't pass up on it for my upcoming 130 rebuild. I may end up swapping them out at a later date, but for a baseline setup, they'll do!
Massive thanks for the spot Kev9t!! Stuart Cummins 130 Build Thread 58 130 Double Cab HCPU - Cairns Blue 04 110 Double Cab - Black (gone) 07 Audi RS4 Avant - Silver Last edited by Smyles_ on 2nd Mar 2021 10:12am. Edited 1 time in total |

It’s my springs that are the issue,
Saying that, I did tow my boat from Newcastle up to Lommond and back down again last year, and also a huge caravan from Down south for a friend... Boats about 2.4 ton with trailer and normally always have bit more weight in it Turned the dials all the way up and towed flawlessly only thing with the caravan my truck was too high for it... So they arrived today at lunch!
Click image to enlarge Shipped taped to together as above, admittedly not how I'd expect, but still, £450 Click image to enlarge(I'm 99% certain the damp mark on the box isn't fluid from the shock) Not sure if there's supposed to added packaging in the box as they don't half slide about in there along with bracketry, manual and obligatory Fox sticker. Still over the moon with the price! Click image to enlarge(Sharpie for scale) I assume this is for servicing? I would recommend some roost shields to protect the shafts...
Bit of a pig to install but i managed after a lot of bodging.. |

Anyone know a decent UK supplier of these covers? I'd say fitting those would be essential to avoid pitting on the shaft.. |

Just found these on the prolinx site whilst trying to find some in-stock shaft guards.
https://www.prolinx.biz/Catalogue/Shock-Ab...D-Adjuster Does this mean these non-adjustable shocks could be converted by a specialist The description sure seems to suggest so: "Fox Ø2.0 10-Click Compression Damping Adjuster. Fits into standard Fox Ø2.0 Remote Reservoir. For use with 5/8" Diameter Shafts only." These shocks are 5/8" Dia. after all. Edit: Fired them an email regarding above and I'll see what they have to say. Just received mine. They are an utter work of art.
Out of interest... What are you fitting them into system wise? It appears that the shock lengths say we need extended bump stops as the compressed length is longer than the standard shocks. Or is the length compressed still ok with standard bump stops? But I can't then figure out if dislocation cones are needed with OME springs lol. Lost in a sea of numbers! |

I'm sorely tempted by these as I've got a 2" lift already with some fairly old De Carbon shocks that are probably past their best...
I've read some reviews that suggest that these can be a bit 'harsh' on road / unloaded compared to some of the other less off road biased alternatives - anyone have some real world feedback (Likeomg?) |

Got them on 2 other defenders. A 130 carrying heavy loads plus unladen, and a 90bat standard height.
The ride is phenomenal on both. Smooth and we'll damped. Only thing they and any other shock lack is compression and rebound damping a tad low when a 130 is fully laden. But you can forgive them that. Honestly I've never found a better ride on my other shock. Off-road in the Pyrenees and Alps on fire roads etc the difference to standard shocks is night and day. My wife borderline refused to get back in my 110 when we temporarily swapped into my brother's fox equipped 130! |
