Talking of wives, I happened to drop the 8% discount bit into the conversation, she absolutely refused to bite. Brings a 3.0 FE down to £54,600. Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

I’ve asked for a quote on a D250 110 HSE

Indus Silver
Black leather interior.
Heated steering wheel.
Privacy glass.

£10,000 deposit, 10,000 miles per year, 48 month PCP

I also see that through this scheme the APR is 4.9% rather than the usual 5.9%

I’m straight cash, discount %ge usually works on SWMBO but not at the mo. Sad

I’d make it easy, a straight 3.0 FE in green or silver, with roof bars would be a bonus but not a deal breaker. Whistle

Got my best pcp offer so far but not good enough for me yet.

Nearly nee, 6k miles
D240 s metallic paint, no options

5k deposit, 10k per year, 3 years @550 pm.

I think I'm getting more picky. Want the 6 cylinder now, green or blue with white roof and side steps, plastic cladding and mud flaps lol ...

I should just give up and get a d4 for now but I think I'll wait till end of q1 then try pestering dealers for snd of quarter mega deal.

Lump some more money in at the start and the factory build options with their lovely 6 pot diesels come in to range!

Downside is the long slow wait..... you have to balance instant gratification for all thr trimmings Thumbs Up Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Edit

Just checked And with jus paint it's 690pm on those terms so would need to double to deposit to 10k to get 550.

with the few options snd accessories I want it would be about 750.

Options just under the pcp thing and I feel the defender really wants about 3k worth. Contrast roof is pretty gauling though at 990!! No wonder so few seem to have it.

How much would it cost to wrap the roof in the colour you want Scotnoob?

Funny you should ask that. I thought I had a clever idea of getting a white defender and then just wrapping the body green or blue. Quote was like 2k though so was very suprised how expensive it is.

Maybe I could shop around and perhaps get as little as 509 for the roof but hardly seems worth it considering it might increase insurance for being non standard + they only last a few years iirr.

So that's down to £0.83 pence per mile but will some of that term now sit outside of full manufacturer warranty?

The only problem I have with the white roof and the metallic paint for that matter, is why I have to pay the same as the 110. My 90 has less to get painted. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

Car is only 4 months old so even a Land Rover approved warranty will be about 300-500 over that period which is nearly as good as a new warranty.

That as well but it's still a lot. A gle or q7 is only 600 and the contrast roof is tiny on either.

I actually think the car itself and other options are pretty reasonable though. A lot of the internet haters clearly don't know how much big suvs cost. Even the jeep rubicon is 50k here and a full fat land cruiser is 80k with a v8. Both are terrible on roads by all accounts.

I’ve upset no end of folk over on Land Rovers FB page for daring to suggest that their prices are set too high and that their PCP deals are 💩.

Volvo, Ford, Toyota, Mazda and a few other manufacturers are all offering 0% finance on their new cars. Some also now give a 5 year warranty.

Land Rover need to wake up to the current financial situation.....

If you can’t afford one then you’re not in Gerry’s target audience. Well that will be JLR’s view. Whistle Whistle

I always love the price difference between LRs here and over The Pond. The argument is along the lines of “that’s what the US market dictates”, which in my mind is translated into “you mugs will pay what we ask, stop complaining.”
