And at last the defender has left the garage , 4 months is a long time ain’t it , but anyways , my wife had her first covid injection and a prescription run was needed , so off we went , glad we took the beast cos there is some serious flooding out there , I have spotted the left rear side is lower than normal , will keep an eye on this and she may get treated to two new rear springs if required

Hello procta 👍🏻 She’s already on a storm stage 2+ tune with the updated map sensor he sells , my turbo is knackered and wound to the max , but is so worn the boost isn’t huge , can’t afford a fancy turbo I’m afraid , I may get mine refurbed , but she does well , she gets to 60 really well even in her present state and the special tracks eat power , infact the drag is so great you hardly have to use the brakes Laughing

A little update , she’s been out of the garage for work commuting , Monday and Tuesday was pure snow fun , today I took cos I wanted too 👍🏻 We got minus 8 tonight and snow too again , so looks like she’ll get a full week out , 5 days in a row , she’s covered in salt so come the weekend I’ll wash that all off , fellow colleagues recon it’s loud , well it would be with only a short pipe 😂

Well goodness gracious me , how the devil are you all ? So I parked her up in feb after the snow , and tonight I have paid her a visit , she’s on an optimiser and she started in the first turn of the key 👍🏻 It’s mot in august , so I thought I would give her a once over , I gave her a good wash when I parked her up , but alas I got some chassis work to do because of the winter salt , I knew I should have got to her earlier , but it’s to late to moan . So this weekend she’s gonna get an inside out and upside down snow foam bath x 2 . Once she’s dry I’ll get cutting and welding ready for august . She’s only done 200 mile since last time , having her sitting and doing nothing doesn’t help does it . Keep safe everyone and I’ll catch ya on the other side 👍🏻😎

Oh and the off road pit is now permanently closed , so no more off roading , there is another pit , but that’s 40 mile away , and that’s to far for me in the truck , don’t think I can sell her though , so will keep mot-ing and wait for some snow

Ta-tar

Hello fella , glad Devon is all good , blooming hot ain’t it , well tonight she’s had a double snow foam bath and a mega underneath and chassis wash and flush too , I got soaked laying under there but soon dried off in all this heat . Next job will be to remove the exhaust and cut away and clean the bad chassis area , needs to be a tad cooler to do that , Thursday and Friday look ideal as it’s supposed to pour down , so pics coming soon 👍🏻

So this evening was spent laying under the beast , I took the exhaust off for more space and cut a hole where the chassis had burst from in to out . I could see straight away that although I flush the chassis out after every pit run an old piece of chassis from a previous repair had fell to bottom of the chassis creating a dam and where this dam was and all the Censored , it sat wet and rotted through . After the photo was taken , out came the hose and a real good flush of the chassis took place . I will make the hole a lot bigger as there are a couple of pit run damage patches in the area . Got plenty of 2.5mm steel ready to be cut and shaped . Welding time is here again 👍🏻

Good news , she passed with a couple of advisories , well she’s only done 248 miles since last time . It’s easier keeping it road worthy now it’s not at a pit every month

Hello everyone , I hope you all had a good Christmas and wishing you a happy new year . So the defender has not been moved since it’s mot , except to be parked in storage because once again our landlord has a change of mind . So we have moved just before Christmas again . Anyways , I’m off to collect the defender next weekend and she’s coming home , and this time to be used . Hooray . I don’t have anywhere indoors to work on it now , and have got a tarp to throw over it to keep the worst off . But she will now be used weekly and I can not wait , ear defenders at the ready
