no egr valve as it was removed over 10 years ago, i have changed the 3 relays next to the ecu, i even disconected the red plug from the ecu and then switched the ignition on and the relays still click every 10 seconds or so, i an begining to suspect theres an fault in the loom somewhere of maybe some wires are shorting together ? very frustrating as its no obvious where it might be lol

Non return valve on the fuel line? Possibly draining back between use and causing fuel starvation when first swtiching on?
Cheap to replace might be worth a go

Quick update, finally had to admit defeat and get the truck into a local garage and there puzzled too but the ecu has been sent off for testing and they have found a fault and its £375 to be repaired, cheaper than £500 for a replacement. i wont hear anything till next week but hopefully this will get sorted lol. i will report back once i know for all those who are watching .

truck all fixed now but my wallet is broken £900 ouch, ecu repaired and the garage replaced the injector seals and diesel filter as well. As i had no access to a nanocom or spare ecu i had to admit defeat and get it to a local garage and even they were puzzled at first lol but at least i have my truck back and all is well
