Did they have central locking on the back door before 2002? I thought that came in with the change to the pressed steel door. Darren

I think you’re right. My central locking looks an aftermarket affair.
The rear lock has a hole drilled underneath and the rod to actuate the lock is routed from below. The latch/lock itself is worn and won’t stay locked (although it closes ok, a good push on the lever will unlock it even if it’s meant to be locked). I might just have to replace with a normal latch and live without central locking on the rear door. Cheers Simon |
