110 considering to buy please have opinion and what's wrong?
Hi all,
I saw this and it seems ok. Use to commute to work 13 miles each way and camper trip (only need bed, food, water/beer).

Any opinions and anything wrong. Thank you

Worth a look - obviously ex-utility company - that's not necessarily a problem if maintenance history, rather than service history is available.
Then usual checks - bulkhead and chassis rust, transmission clunks above normal Smile , oil leaks and so on.

Ridiculous wheels and tyres. Can’t believe it “runs and drives superb” with them on.

From what little you can see before b***y facebook throws you off if you don't have and won't create an account, it looks quite tidy, but the comment above about the wheels and tyres is very sensible (they are absurd, and unless you're a weirdo would want to change them as soon as possible) also note that the winch is an ex-utility rigging winch with a large drum and hence will have a fairly low line pull, so is not much use for an off-road vehicle. There is also a good chance that it will have the complex electrical system typical of ex-utility vehicles, which is OK if it is mainly intact with all the extra kit still fitted, and if you are an electrical enthusiast, but can be a bit of a nightmare if it's been hacked about and had things removed.

Bearing in mind that the seller will almost certainly think that both the tyres and the winch add massively to the value of the vehicle (which they don't) you may find that it is over-priced for what it is.

Mine "runs and drives superb" with 35's on.....

The only problem with those is that they stick too far out of the standard arches to be legal.

Looks tidy , do you have a budget to put things right , as mentioned before ...tyres ,winch and full service and maybe a clutch, ? If so go for it it’s a good blank canvas if bulkhead , chassis and engine are in good order.
I prefer td5 or tdi but no massive issue with puma , if using for adventure -overland and commute I’d swap rims and tyres for wolf and All terrains , bfg , coopers , maxxis, Micky Thompson’s are all good brands 235x85x16 or max 255x85x17. This fauve alone will cost over £1k but you’ll get £4-500 for tyres you have on it .
Go for it , buy it fix it and enjoy it👍 Have fun be happy

I looked at ex utilities before I bought my double cab, I’d rather one that’s fresh ex utility as at least that way you know someone else hasn’t tried to do anything to it, the wheels and tyres are certainly post utility life additions as all the ones i saw had smaller muds on.

You can also but a standard hard top for less usually, or at least that’s what i saw.

It looks tidy as it has had a respray. I drive one of these daily. Unusually for a Puma, they are used as Land Rover originally intended!

There won’t be any Britpart service parts on it.

Steering is heavy due to the winch and hydraulic system and steering boxes take a hammering - As stated before, the winch is for erecting pole mounted transformers etc. You can also run hydraulic tools off the takeoffs on the front, should you ever need to erect a duckbill pole stay.

Sadly I wouldn't count on that, since it has clearly had quite a lot done to it since being demobbed from WPD.
