Do you mean something like a cone air filter for a Honda S2000? Is anyone running something like that in a Defender? |

Was never fully happy with the look of the ducting so just got round to fitting some proper silicone hoses and another stainless 90 elbow.
Looks a bit more factory now, there’s more clearance below the steering arm and it’s stronger and more rigid. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Not a TD5 but you get the idea. 102mm pipe from airbox to wing tops. DIY adaptor plate covered with a snow cowl. Can’t get much free-er flowing. Been like this for a couple years. Never had a wet air filter. The inlet is raised from the adaptor plate by about 5mm to reduce the risk of water ingress.
