I just seen a photo of Zilch’s car and he has the ladder on the RHS mounting where the lunch box would be so you can at least mount the ladder on the other side to LR’s recommended side Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

So checking the fitting instructions for the ladder at http://accessories-instructions.landrover....r/G2409785
The picture shows just TWO of these mounting points under the trim beneath the side window BUT there is a caution statement which says The right side of the vehicle has 3 vehicle body fixing nuts in this section of the vehicle body. Make sure only the 2 furthest forward nuts are exposed. So the only other wrinkle for concern would be if the top mounting brackets that hook onto the roof rails are angle-cut for roof slope front-to-back (which would stop you swapping them over), Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history) |

until yesterday it was on the lunch box side as in the picture. but for whatever reason the dealer took it upon themselves to change it to the nearside when it went in for the bonnet decal to be fitted, 2 hour job has turned into 2 day delay whilst they wait for a new trim to be shipped. i will pick the car up later. I am sure i read that the Lunch box can only be fitted to the Off side, maybe if someone has the fitting instructions they can confirm ?? some people are painting or black gloss wrapping to try and blend them in with the windows a tad better, i personally do not mind them and will leave them as is yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

Are you having the ladder swapped back or is the new trim piece for the nearside? Either way, perhaps you could ask them to photo the nearside without the trim piece and it would show if there are only two close holes for the ladder, or a third hole at the rear that might suggest the lunchbox could fit there? |

And perhaps also handed as I thought from the Powerful UK video of the fitting of the roof rails they did not run parallel to each other when viewed from above. They had a degree of toe in. |

the dealer took it upon themselves to swap it to the nearside, although i only dropped it off to have the bonnet decal fitted:and was not fussed where it was originally installed. They had a new trim delivered and freshly painted and reinstalled today for the offside where they had previously drilled the pilot holes for the ladder mounting screws, i was unable to have a peak at where the original holes where. yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

Seems Powerful UK has a ladder to fit now, so it will be interesting to watch the forthcoming video to see how many holes there are behind the trim strip on the "correct" ladder side.
