Chaps, I'm looking to get new shocks for my Defender, and many people recommend Bilsteins.
While looking at prices online, I found two different B6s: the 24-065290 and the 24-002530 (just using the rears as an example). https://www.autodoc.co.uk/bilstein/1043832 https://www.autodoc.co.uk/bilstein/1043491 Does anyone know what the differences are between these two shocks? Also, in the item descriptions, I see there's a 'Parameter' line item - what does this mean, as the parameters are different for the two different shocks? I can't find anywhere that actually says what 'parameter' means. The additional cost of the 065290 and the figures attached to the 'parameter' suggests that it's a heavier duty version, though. It also appears that the top eye of that model has a factory fitted bush and sleeve rather than the loose bushes supplied with the 002530.
The Bilstein website and those of its' resellers are frustrating as they lack any sort of detail. Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

Yeah, I also had the same thought about the parameters and the significance, but it would be nice to get confirmation.
The prices are also vastly different (from two different suppliers): 24002530 B6 BILSTEIN R2,944.00 24065290 B6 OFF-ROAD BILSTEIN R 4,662.10 -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Personally having fitted the Bilsteins to mine and Fox's to somebody elses vehicle, id choose the Fox's all day long, they seem to be much better engineered and put together.
Just my little input. I know the Fox's are in general more expensive but i believe there to be a good reason behind this! 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html Instagram - @r22oyp Roy |

Agree with Roy. Have had both and if is comfort you are after the fox is defiantly worth the extra cash.

thanks for the advice, which model of Fox shocks for longer-travel when off-roading? I don't carry much load, so heady-load is not a requirement for me. Someone else swears by Koni Raids - what do you think? -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Interesting! All of the sites I looked at had both models listed for my 2013 110, for example. Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |
