Are you referring to the Rivian?

Then there's the Lordstown Endurance:

Atlis XT, Nikola Badger...and so on.

Could this be the car that actually makes EV a realistic proposition for the average person? https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-car...ordable-ev

Surely better than headline grabbing stuff like this: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-car...mile-range WARNING.

Do you mean the "new" battery tech?

Is there any difference between the tech necessary for lower cost batteries and increased performance, or are they just two sides of the same coin?

As to making electric vehicles affordable, Norway seems to be leading the charge. It's maybe not a level playing field but when you take the taxes away:

Yes, Musk reckons the new battery built in-house will form the basis of a sub £20k car with 500+ mile range due in 3 years.

I believe the UK government is looking at Norway's tax system. I read they also proposed taxing non EV's to subsidise them. WARNING.
