Defender Series Headlight Plates / surround advice
Hello everyone Thumbs Up ,

How are you? My first post on defender2.net

Recently bought a D90 300tdi from 97 and converting it to softtop. One of the mods I'm making is putting the series style headlights instead of the traditional Defender front.

Currently have this style and I don't like to see the small holes:

Part I need:

Problem: The vented holes for TD5. I can't find anywhere in Europe a place with this plates for 200/300Tdi.

Anyone can give an advice? Hide the holes in the alluminium nakatanenga plates is possible?

Thank you so much.

I've never seen them without the horn holes.
Make your own from a bit of sheet aluminium. It's an easy job.

This is mine, taken back in 2014 (how time flies!).
Yes, I just added an alloy blanking plate.

Why don't you just cut a hole in the wing front behind? Failing that a square of black vinyl stuck to the wing behind would look okay.

A cheap option is maybe to fit carriage bolts in the holes? 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Wouldn’t it be easier to bond a piece of aluminium behind the holes in your original headlight surround, fill with body filler and respray. Keeps it more original this way.

Hello again guys,

Thank you all for your help. It's interesting that in so many LR parts in the market there is no company that makes this plates with a "fair" price. I will just hide the holes. Not the solution I wanted but the most $ friendly Thumbs Up
