OK so new intercooler made little to no difference so fitted a hydrogen on demand system (atmosclear) which has made and unbelievable difference to emmissions (now emits less than a prius unbelievably. MOT station thought their emmissions testers had failed. MPG difference around 2-3 mpg. Also had egr removed from map and dpf removed from map and physically removed as the emmissions are so low. (MoT was done with no DPF. All in all not the MPG reduction I was hopimg for but then due to the virus I have not been driving really so I could be wrong on the overall mpg increase.

What is atmosclear? Website doesn't give much away on i stallation, vast, running costs, what it actually does. Cheers

Atmosclear is essentially an electrolytic reactor. That is to say it works the same way as a car battery charger, during the charging/electrolytic reaction both oxygen and hydrogen are generated through the splitting of the deionised water (along with other chemicals to maximise these products). The oxygen and hydrogen are then fed into the air intake just prior to the turbo. This causes the combustion to occur earlier burning all of the diesel fuel rather than just a fraction of the fuel. This is how the emmissions are reduced so drastically.

Sounds and runs more smoothly. More like a petrol engine than a diesel, an amazing piece of kit and unbelievablly kind to the environment. Being an environmental union rep where I work, it is great to be able to tell haters that Muddyfunster (my 110) is cleaner that virtually every other car on the road. Even electric cars struggle because if they are charged from the grid (gas powered power stations i mean) then by the time the power reaches the socket, around 68% of the energy generated has been lost through the transmission of gas to heat to steam to electric + the subsequent transmission losses through the power lines). I emit smug now rather than smog when I am in my defender.

Sorry to sound like a sceptic fab.rob, but I work on the basis that if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. This really does sound too good to be true, but I am willing to be open minded.
A few years ago I watched a Guy try and tell me his car engine would burn more efficiently and cleaner by strapping magnets around the fuel pipe. Snake oil, I am afraid. You are very correct that the losses from power lines are the unspoken truth of central generation. It is why CHP (combined heat and power) units were popular a few years back. They were not specifically efficient, but against carbon burning at a power station and losses across distribution cabling, they were on paper better for the environment. These units have been superseded by the decarbonisation of energy generation (solar / wind etc.) so the idea of burning anything, be it gas, or rape seed oil (I worked on a building near London Bridge that had a rape seed oil burning CHP) seems to be out of favour now. Nothing very environmentally friendly about driving a diesel burning artic four times a week into central London to off load a tank of rape seed oil to save the environment I don't believe the unit was ever used after it was commissioned. |

I can assure you all I have stated is fact. I have detailed independent analysis papers that demonstrate this. I am quite highly qualified as well and I am not easily parted from my cash, certainly not without evidence to demonstrate the claims. I work for the MOD who have also undertaken in house testing of am earlier version which although still good was not quite as good. If you like i can send this evidence

Likewise, what’s the cost involved. Sounds great but the fact it is little heard of suggests that the costs may be uneconomical.

Defender 130 completely empty Tire pressure 40 psi. About 21 mpg.
Absolutely no idea how some of you get 30+ mpg. |

What do you put into the Atmos-clear in order to allow it to produce the hydrogen and oxygen, and how much does it use?
