Good point, thank you. Even if remapping is not possible Im still happy with D200 as it is. |

We drove a D240SE today from the kind people at Beadles Staples corner. Amazing spec and very impressed with the drive on the road. I’ve done two experiences with LR but not much on road.
We went to try D5 and Defender but we’re not bothered to drive the D5 after the time in the Defender. The spec on the base and S just blows me away. We don’t need an SE or HSE however much we want one! 1951 80" S1 2.0 1995 110 300TDI 1995 90 300TDI |

I think the base model has pretty much everything covered.

I think it's definitely a numbers game, as in the numbers of dealers you ring. Seven's a good number but maybe there's an 8th or 9th waiting with a better deal. You just need one. |

Looking at the engine updates in the Evoke and D Sport, I think in 2021 the D240 will be dropped and replaced by a mild hybrid D250. Its typical of JLR to introduce a new model and use the old engine spec for 12 to 18 months and then update to the latest engine to meet the latest emissions. That's what happened with the two models above when they were phasing out the old PSA/Ford 2.2 TD4/SD4 diesel to use the Ingenium lump without a close coupled catalyst and all the inherent problems that caused. Therefore there should be some good deals on the 240D and 200D around that time.

Assume the MHEV for the Defender, RRS etc, will be based on the straight six diesel,
a few reports on the inter web suggest it will be available in D250, D300 and D350 form yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

Yes you could be right and my assumption wrong , I wonder what the price increase will be for an extra 10BHP? |

It looks like I might get a good choice of engines when it comes to ordering my 90.

With a beast of a price. I think I can rule that one out, it’ll probably still be a D200 for me.

All these dinosaur engines coming and nothing serious about a PHEV let alone a BEV. LR is going to be hit very hard by the forthcoming corporate emissions fines if they don’t start doing something PDQ. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

BEV won’t happen until the Defender switches to the MLA platform.
