When you get a communication error connecting to the 10as I was advised by Nanocom to retry with the ignition turned back one position ( with Key in) works for me everytime now.
So turn ignition so warning lights illuminate, then connect Nanocon, go through menu Defender etc but befrore selecting 10AS turn key back one position, This leaves power to the Nanocom but for some reason allows it to connect to the 10AS without a communication issue. - Worth a try !
