Panhard Bracket bolt sheered. How safe to drive until fixed?
TD5 2002 90. It seems from stuff I have read that these bolts like to form an unbreakable rust bond.
In removing my steering guard the last bolt (it's always the last) sheered off. You can see it in the picture.
I have done a few local miles very gingerly. I don't think I'll be able to get it to my local specialists for a week or so, so I was wondering if anyone knows how much stress is going through this bolt? So far there is no sign of movememt but it's my daily driver so any feedback would be useful. Cheers. Nick.

Its a fundamental part of the axle location and can affect steering too. Bumps where the panhard will move will put leverage on the top bolt. Steering input can also move the bar outwards and not feel great.

H&s police would say dont drive it.

After all it only needs a new bolt.

Clamp it on if no bolt? Cheers

My mistake, no leverage, just looked at picture. Thought it was the bottom one. Cheers

Thanks James.
I was thinking about a clamp but don't have one big enough. Unless you count my bench vice. Not sure how that would go down. Lol.

Big thanks to Dorsetsmith for sending me a panhard bolt. Now fitted and job done.
Many thanks.
