How do you get it off? Single handed? The reason I ask is that I have to get mine off by myself, and hence I put it on from the back and slide it up. I've fitted a rubbing strip at the back of the roof to stop wear. I'd like your view.

I've now got my kayaks
![]() I'm just going mount them on top of the SD rack...I was gonna hack into the front of the rack so they could stand on the side, but decided that would be sacrilege ![]() I just need my BA's to turn up and I'll be a kayak beginner ![]() ![]() |

I am lifting it up from the side at the moment but as said in a previous post an extension rod can be fabricated or bought for £50 so you can rest one end on it first then simply lift the other end up. You can also buy rollers to put on your roof bars to push it up from the back. Here is a link to the Anglers Afloat forum that is the main site for SOTS and link to various roof rack solutions and products ![]() Lots of good ideas for SOTS ![]() ![]() |

![]() Can't wait to get out on the water next week. I'm hoping to do a 2-3 hour paddle up Chichester estuary where the yacht can't go and then a toddle down the estuary in the boat - I'm hoping to tow the Kayak behind the boat but maybe easier to haul it on deck. A few people use Kayaks for tenders and I'm sure I've seen pictures of electric outboards fitted to kayaks... ![]() |
